Vincenzo Sama - passed away suddenly on March 8, 2017. He was 81 years old.

Vincenzo was born in Sant’Andrea, Calabria, Italy and immigrated to the United States 50 years ago. He supported his family working as a presser at a tailor shop and was skilled in his trade. Vincenzo’s passion was music! He loved playing the snare drum and the accordion and was part of a band that strolled the streets of South Philadelphia. He loved listening to and singing Italian music; especially “Calabrisella Mia”! Vincenzo had a special relationship with God and was a religious man; you could often find him sitting and reading the Bible. Reading, keeping up on current events and politics, tending his fig trees and garden and , of course, spending time with his family were just a few of things that Vincenzo enjoyed.

He is the beloved husband of Maria (nee Nestico); devoted father of Andrea Sama (Stacey), Caterina “Cathy” Ingargiola (Frank), Antonio Sama and Franceschina “Franny” Simpkins (Jeffrey); dear brother of Vittoria Codispoti (the late Nicola) and the late Francesco; loving grandfather of Vincent and Maria Ingargiola.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Tues. eve. 7-9 PM and Wed. morning 8:30 - 9:15 AM in Vincent Gangemi Funeral Home, Inc., 2238 S. Broad St. (At Wolf St.)

Vincenco è nato a Sant'Andrea, Italia ed è emigrato negli Stati Uniti 50 anni fa. Ha sostenuto la sua famiglia lavorando un sarto ed è stato abile nel suo mestiere. la passione di Vincenzo era la musica! Amava suonare la batteria e la fisarmonica e faceva parte di una band che passeggiava per le strade di South Philadelphia. Amava ascoltare e cantare musica italiana; in particolare "Calabrisella Mia"! Vincenzo aveva un rapporto speciale con Dio ed era un uomo religioso; Spesso si potrebbe trovare lui seduto e leggere la Bibbia. Lettura, tenere il passo su eventi e politica attuale, che tende i suoi alberi di fico e, naturalmente, passare del tempo con la sua famiglia erano solo alcune delle cose che Vincenzo goduto.

Egli è l'amato marito di Maria (al secolo Nestico); padre devoto di Andrea Sama (Stacey), Caterina "Cathy" Ingargiola (Frank), Antonio Sama e Franceschina "Franny" Simpkins (Jeffrey); caro fratello di Vittoria Codispoti (alla fine degli anni, Nicola) e il compianto Francisco; nonno amorevole di Vincenzo e Maria Ingargiola.
