Mr. Francesco Certomá passed away after a brief illness on Monday, July 16, 2017. He was 80 years of age.

Francesco was born in Moschetta di Locri, Calabria, Italy in 1936 to the late Leonardo and Giuditta Certomá. In the 1950's he learned his life trade to be a Barber. He came to the United States with his family in June 1973 and settled in South Philadelphia. Prior to retirement, Francesco worked as a barber at Victor’s on Oregon Ave. for many years. Francesco was passionate about history and politics and was always up on what was happening around the world. A cigarette in the garden, a glass of wine, a walk with friends and solving a challenging Italian Cross Word Puzzle was part of his daily routine.

He is the beloved husband of 54 years to Rosa (nee Marafioti); devoted father of Lore Fama (Russell); loving grandfather of Julian Fama; dear brother of Giuseppe, Ida, Maria and the late Antonio; also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass Friday 11:30 AM in St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church, 9th and Watkins Sts. Entombment Fernwood Cemetery, Yeadon.
