Life Story for Everardo Valentino Nevers

Mr. Everardo Valentino Nevers passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital with his family by his side. He was 55 years of age.

Everardo looked at the world with a keen sense of adventure, wonder and imagination; able to see beauty and goodness in everything around him. The embodiment of quick wit, sharp style, killer smile and thoughtful demeanor were trademarks of this old world gentleman.

Friendship to him was a priceless gift and he had the innate ability to bring out the very best in others. His love of art brought him to many museums where he served as a visitor, volunteer and guide; even studying to be a docent with the Barnes Foundation.

Born in Panama City, Panama, he and his family immigrated to the United States in 1973. Education played an important role in his life, and was to graduate this Spring with a BA with intentions to earn his Masters.

Everardo was a respected and well loved member of the recovery community in the Philadelphia area and looked forward to celebrating 10 continuous years in April. Life’s journey for Everardo sparked a healthy wanderlust of discovery in his own personal spirituality.

Watching PBS, Turner Classics, shopping for and sharing gifts, loving animals, traveling and of course spending time with his beloved friends and family were just a glimpse into the passions of this truly special man.

He is the beloved son of Jasmine V. (nee Cuthbert) and the late Hevral Nevers; devoted brother of Eneida Nevers and Elvia Nwana (Emeka); loving uncle of Niko, Paloma, Simon and Valentino; special friend of Marie Conti, Jason Javier Watson; Also survived by many aunts, cousins and dear friends.
