Jose A. Vivas of Philadelphia, PA on, March 6, 2018 he was 65 years of age.

He is the devoted father of Stefanie M. (Frank) Daniels, Jessica Vivas, Michael J. Vivas (Kristine DiCrosta); loving Pop Pop of Alyssa and Frankie; loving brother of Edith Glacken (the late, Jack), Marino "Chico” Vivas (Linda), William “Billy” J. Smith (Gloria), the late John H. Smith (Josephine), and the late Alfonso Vivas. Survived by the mother of his three children, Carol Vivas. Also survived by his adored grandcats Tipy & Simba.

A charming and stubborn guy, Jose was a family man who loved to laugh and tell jokes.
Born in Venezuela, Jose made his way to the United States at a very young age after his mother married a Merchant Marine from Philadelphia. Thus began his love of the Sea, and how it could make you feel and where it could take you. He proudly worked as the Merchant Marine for a brief time and was a member of Seafarers International Union but his love of the sea always remained.

Family and friends are invited to his viewing Saturday 10-11:45 AM and memorial service 12 Noon in the Vincent Gangemi Funeral Home, Inc 2232-40 S. Broad St. Phila Pa 19145;
