Obituary for Robert R. Wells

Wells – Robert R. passed away suddenly on April 12, 2018. He was 58 years of age.

Bob was an outgoing, funny, chop busting guy who loved people. He was a well-known and respected man and businessman in South Philadelphia.

He had a passion for cooking. Bob worked in his family business, JP Caterers, at 9th & Johnston Sts., all of his life. He was co owner and chef of the business that helped thousands of local families celebrate and commemorate milestones through the years.

Inspired by Bruce Lee as a kid, Bob took an interest in martial arts and with dedication, practice and focus, became a master and instructor. Bob was the proud owner of Traditional Tang Soo Do of Philadelphia on S. 11th Street.

In his down time, Bob enjoyed spending time down the shore, hunting, fishing and making memories with family and friends.

He is the beloved husband of 30 years to Donna (nee Criniti); devoted son of Richard and the late Jennie (nee Inverso) Wells; loving brother of Debra DeLuca (Anthony) and Richard Wells (Barbara) and brother in law of Anna Gulezian (Ron), Mary Lou Vernacchio (the late, Joe) and Gloria Muckenstarm (Michael); also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Tuesday 6-9 PM and Wednesday 9-10:15 AM in the Vincent Gangemi Funeral Home, Inc., 2232-40 S. Broad Street (at Wolf Street), Philadelphia, PA. Funeral Mass Wednesday 11 AM in the Church of the Annunciation of our Blessed Virgin Mary, 10th and Dickinson Streets, Philadelphia, PA. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
