Russell A. Gazzara, PhD, April 28, 2014, suddenly, age 64. Loving son of the late Russell and Ann (nee Passalacqua); dear brother of the late Margaret Gazzara, also survived by loving cousins John and Louise Arnao and other cousins, dear companion of Martha Coble and beloved godfather to Autumn Jane Coble. Dr. Gazzara was the Director of Global Scientific Communications at Teva Pharmaceuticals. He was a pharmaceutical medical communication professional with over 30 years experience in scientific/medical publications and regulatory writing. Author of 25 peer-reviewed articles published in scientific and medical journals, with more than 45 presentations at scientific and medical congresses. His specialties included, extensive experience in neurology, psychiatry, metabolism, insomnia, infectious diseases, cardiology, immunology, women’s health and joint venture publications. Dr. Gazzara was a graduate from West Philadelphia Catholic High School for Boys in 1967; he earned a BS in Biology from Drexel University in 1972 and a PhD in Neurobiology from Purdue University in1980.
