IRENE M. (nee Psota)
Passed away on February 7, 2018 at Premier Cadbury, Cherry Hill, NJ where she had resided for almost two years. Prior to her move to Cadbury, she resided in Pottstown until March, 2016.
Born: 12/22/1922 in Pottstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mary Ann (Gurba) and Michael A. Psota, Irene graduated in 1940 from Pottstown High School. Married on 2/16/1946 to Lawrence (Larry) J Vapniarek. She was a housewife until 1967 when she began working at Boyertown Packaging Company until her retirement. Irene was preceded in death by her husband Larry, sisters Margaret (Merlyn Wolcott), Mary (Frederick Jones) and Helen (Francis Wolfe & Edward Reynolds) and brothers Albert (Mary) and James (Blanche). She is survived by two sons; Larry (John Marotta) and Michael (Susan Tyson), three grandsons Lee, Mitchell, and Jacob as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tue. Feb. 13, at 10:00 AM at The Church of St. Luke and the Epiphany, 330 S. 13th Street, Philadelphia, PA. 19107. A viewing will be held before the service from 9:00AM. Interment will be held immediately after the funeral service at Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Irene’s name to The Church of St. Luke and the Epiphany, Capital Campaign Fund, 330 S. 13th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107.
