An intelligent man and avid learner, Angel started his lifelong journey of learning early in life when he graduated from Cardinal Spellman High School in the Bronx at the young age of 15. His late father’s diagnosis and struggle with cancer is what drew Angel to the radiological sciences field at a young age. Angel served our country honorably with service both in the US Air Force and US Army. After his service in the military, he embarked on a long career in radiation therapy and hospital administration. Angel obtained multiple certifications in radiation therapy, dosimetry, nuclear medicine, and CT. As he advanced in hospital administration, Angel also obtained an MBA & MHA from University of Maryland & Webster University, respectively. He was a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Certified Medical Practice Executive.

Although Angel and his wife of 25 years, Michelle, never had children, he enjoyed his role as an uncle, cousin and mentor. Affectionately known as Uncle Dino, Angel always took time to encourage the young, not only in his family but all those he encountered. Angel will be deeply and sorely missed by all whom had the privilege to know him.

Reading, traveling, discovering new restaurants and watching independent films were just a few things that Angel enjoyed. Active with the City Life Church of South Philadelphia, he consistently served as a service host there. He also loved spending time with his cat, Lucy.

Angel is the beloved husband of Michelle Hutchings-Medina, devoted son of Carmen Medina (nee Rodriguez) and the late Angel Lorenzo Medina, dear brother of Saida & Maritza Medina. He is also survived by a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

It is our hope that God will use his death to help others come out of the shadows of mental illness. Please, In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention by clicking HERE
