Mrs. Francesca Sergi (nee Viennese)

Of South Philadelphia on Saturday, August 25, 2018 after a brief illness.

She was 87 years of age.

Born in Reggio Calabria Italy, Francesca immigrated to the United States with her family in 1958.

The ultimate homemaker, she will fondly be remembered for her cooking, baking, crocheting, homemade foods jar-ing and canning but most of all for her kindness and generosity. The fiesty matriarch of the Sergi family, she was devoted to her children but her grand and great grandchildren were definitely the apples of her eye. She was blessed with the talent of sewing and was an accomplished seamstress; making clothing for family and friends alike, but also worked outside of the home and did so most recently at After Six Formal Wear.

She is the beloved wife of 63 years to John Vincent Sergi; devoted mother of Josephine Villone (Carl), Mary Pinto (John) and Philip Sergi (Lona); loving nonna of Carl, Valerie, Tina Marie and Anthony and great grandnonna of Cameron and Helen Ruth; dear sister of Vincent, Mossimino, Nino and Angelo Viennese and Katie and Maria; Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing 9 AM and Funeral Mass 10 AM Wednesday in Saint Monica Church, 17 & Ritner Streets, Philadelphia. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery Yeadon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Francesca.
