Mr. Marcus Giardino passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, after an extended illness he fought fearlessly. He was 72 years of age.

A generous guy with a great sense of humor, Marcus was proud to call himself an American, an Italian and a Philadelphian. A life-long resident of South Philadelphia he was raised in the 22nd and Colorado neighborhood. He proudly served in the US Air Force. Prior to retirement, Marcus worked as a carpenter for the City of Philadelphia Board of Education for 22 years. Cheering on and following the local sports teams, especially the Phillies was something he loved. Spending time down the shore, relaxing and spending time with his family were just some of the things that meant the world to Marcus.

He is the beloved husband of 37 years to Joanna (nee Camarda); devoted father of Marcus, III (Heather Stewart) and Stephen; loving son of Rose; brother-in-law of Mattia Camarda; son-in-law of Stefano Camarda; also survived by his aunts, nieces, cousins and his Chihuahua buddy, Skully.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Tuesday 7-9 PM and Wednesday 9-9:45 AM in the Vincent Gangemi Funeral Home, Inc., 2232-40 S. Broad St. (at Wolf St.). Funeral Mass Wednesday 10:30 AM in the Church of the Annunciation of the BVM, 10th & Dickinson Sts.
Military honors and entombment in New Saint Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Bellmawr, NJ.
