Obituary for Gina "Jeanette" Lacroce

Mrs. Gina “Jeanette” Lacroce (nee Mirarchi) of South Philadelphia passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 16, 2018 with her family by her side. She was 89 years of age.

Jeanette was a simple, strong and loving woman who was fiercely devoted to her beloved family.

Born in Isca, Italy, Jeanette Mirarchi emigrated to the United States in 1948 and lived in Coalmont, Pennsylvania where she met, fell in love with and married Joseph Lacroce. She moved to and settled in South Philadelphia, where she spent the rest of her life raising her family. Jeanette was instrumental in helping her siblings immigrate to and to obtain citizenship in the United States. For a short time, Jeanette was employed by Botany 500, but devoted her life to her family as a devoted homemaker.

Jeanette’s kitchen was the heart of her home where she lovingly prepared traditional favorite dishes and enjoyed entertaining friends and family during the holidays and at parties.

She will be sadly missed by anyone who was ever blessed to know her.

She is the beloved wife of the late Josoeph Lacroce; devoted mother of Nicola Lacroce, Frank Lacroce (Debbie), Kay Talarico (Salvatore) and Rita Carrizo (Gustavo); loving grandmother of Amanda, Gina, Gustavo, Emilia, Sabrina, Nicola, Alejandro and the late Frankie and great grandmother of Dominic, Sophia, Novella, Viviana, Valentina and Italia; dear sister of Josephine Zaffino (the late Joseph), Charles Mirarchi (the late Pat) and the late Adelina Varano (Salvatore); also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing 9 AM and Funeral Mass 10 AM Thursday in the Epiphany of our Lord Church, 11th and Jackson Streets, Philadelphia. Entombment Calvary Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum, Cherry Hill, NJ.
