JOHN J., Age 76, July 16, 2021. Beloved husband of Bessie A. (nee Moss); devoted father of the late John J. Newman, Jr. (surviving wife Jennifer). Loving grandfather of Nicholas (Jessica), John, David, Lucas, Andrew and Lillian; great grandfather of Anna. Brother in law of Rosemarie Moss; predeceased by 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
John served Philadelphia for 40yrs. as a Philadelphia Firefighter. He was a 30yr. U.S. Army Veteran with the National Guard. After retiring from the Fire Department John worked security at the Methodist Hospital for 17 years.
Relatives, friends and members of Fire Fighters Local 22 are invited to his Viewing Thursday morning 9:00 A.M. to 9:45 A.M. at Stella Maris Church 10th & Bigler Street, Funeral Mass set to begin 10:00 A.M.
Interment Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield Pa.
