Obituary for Gertrude Gloria Bernardini

GERTRUDE (nee Iannucci), July 18, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Bruno Bernardini; devoted mother of Debbie (the late Raymond) Madonna, Michele (Robert) Bunnion, Toni (the late Rene) Lannutti, Stephanie Whitleigh, Bruno (Diana) Bernardini and Trudy (James) Morgan; loving grandmother of 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson. Dear sister of Louis (Kathy) Iannucci, Angie (the late Butch) Crescenzo and the late Nicholas (surviving wife Joanann) Iannucci; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Gertrude (Gert) lived in South Philadelphia all of her life. Her and her husband, Bruno, owned and operated several businesses in the area during their lifetime: Dario’s Bakery on 13th and Morris, the Snack Stand at Packer Park Swim Club and then finally Bru-Nics Luncheonette on 17th & McKean Streets. Gert and Bruno were well-known and loved in their neighborhood and through their businesses. Gert would start each day by attending Mass at St. Monica’s church. Her Catholic faith and relationship with God were very important to her. She will always be remembered for her youthful looks and her never-ending vitality.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Friday morning 9:00 to 10:15 A.M. at St. Monica Church, 17th and Ritner Streets. Funeral Mass to begin 10:30 A.M.
Entombment wil be at 2:00 P.M.at Locustwood Memorial Park, 1500 Marlton Pike W, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002
