Obituary for Salvatore J. Grillo

We are sad to announce that on August 18, 2022 we had to say goodbye to SALVATORE JOSEPH GRILLO. At the age of 92, Sal was born, grew up and taught ballroom dancing for more than 60 years in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. After working for the Philadelphia Police Department as a captain and inspector's clerk for 10 years he found his lifelong passion, the dance. Sal taught at Arthur Murray's dance studio for 30 years and then taught independently in the tristate area. He also loved to share his love of dance at the Jewish Community Center at 401 S. Broad St. Philadelphia.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Henrietta Grillo and his sister Rita (Robert) Walsh. Uncle of Brian (Donna) Walsh, Karen (Jimmy) Smith and Sharon (Kathy) Walsh; great uncle of Dana and Lindsey Walsh; also survived by many other family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Wednesday, Aug. 24th, 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Vincent Gangemi Funeral Home, Inc. 2232-2240 S. Broad St. (at Wolf St.).
