Obituary for Carmen P. Commoroto

COMMOROTO
CARMEN P., age 95, February 25, 2023. Beloved husband of 69 years to Annette Commoroto (nee Ruggieri); devoted father of Richard, Sr. (Kathleen) Commoroto, John (Rita) Commoroto and Carmen P., Jr (Kimberly) Commoroto. Loving grandfather of John, Jr. (Nicole), Kaitlyn, Kara (Tim), Carmen, III, Alicia, Richie, Jr. and Mia; great grandfather of Giulia and Gemma; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

John’s Market was opened in 1923 by John Ruggieri. In 1947, Carmen after being discharged from the U.S. Army Air Force took the reins and he along with John’s daughter Annette continued to serve our community with great service and quality butchered meats. In their early teens, all three sons joined them working in the store and it evolved into Dad’s Stuffing; adding prepared foods. Their sons continue to offer quality butchered meats and a wide variety of prepared foods as they celebrate 100 years in our community.
Carmen was active and supportive of the community and especially St. Monica Church. A family man first and foremost; he enjoyed always having family around him. His passing will leave a great void, but his loving family is very thankful for having him for 95 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Friday Eve. March 3rd., 7:00 to 9:30 P.M. and Saturday morning March 4th, 9:00 to 10:15 A.M. at St. Monica Church, 17th and Ritner Streets. Funeral Mass to begin 10:30 A.M.

Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Blackwood, NJ

Family requests donations to St. Monica Church, 2422 S. 17th St., Philadelphia, PA 19145. In Carmen’s memory.
