SANVITALE
Ralph T., age 100, May 12, 2023. Beloved son of the late Frank and Lucia Sanvitale; dear brother of the late Thomas (Maria) Sanvitale and Paul (Nicasia) Sanvitale. Dear uncle of Lucy Sanvitale, Theresa Sanvitale, MaryAnne Matthews, Rosalie Baldassarre, Vincent Sanvitale, Rita Sanvitale, Linda McCloskey, Dorothy Stockton, Rosemary Sanvitale and the late Frank Sanvitale and Sarah Saiia; also survived by great nieces, great nephews, a great great niece and two great great nephews.
Uncle Ralph lived to the age of 100. He lived a simple and active life. He learned the carpenter trade at Bok Vocational School in South Philadelphia where he grew up. He was drafted into the Navy and served during WW II. He volunteered to serve as an armed guard on Merchant Marine ships and also served on many different ships during the war. As a proud disabled veteran, he continued to work as a carpenter specializing in floor installations.
Ralph grew up in St. Nicholas of Tolentine Parish in South Philadelphia and helped around the church and school since he was a young boy. He gave his skill and time to St. Nicholas Church and School up until the age of 98. Uncle Ralph as everyone called him, although never being married he was the patriarch of his family and loved being around and helping his siblings, and all of his nieces and nephews over the years. He has truly left a void with his family and community and will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Sunday eve., May 21st, 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. and Monday morning, May 22nd, 8:15 to 9:15 A.M. at Vincent Gangemi Funeral Home, Inc. 2232-2240 S. Broad St (at Wolf St.) Funeral Mass 10:00 A.M. at St. Edmond’s Church, 21st St. and Snyder Ave.
Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
