Donald E. Zabawa ended his courageous journey with cancer at home with the ones who loved him most on Wednesday. March 9.2015.
Donald was born in Philadelphia, where he resided until his retirement from the Department of Defense at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard in 2004 and moved to Bensalem to enjoy all that retirement had to offer,
in life, Donald was most proud of his children, being a Marine and serving his country in Vietnam, coaching little league at Tarken Playground, being able to fix and build almost anything, and growing and sharing the most beautiful flowers, fruits and vegetables you could ever imagine. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald, and his parents. Left to mourn his loss are his wife, Marie; his son, Michael (Theresa); his daughter, Jennifer Wrazen (Robert}; eight amazing grandchildren, Emily, Christina, Gabri¬ella, Megan, Victoria, Alyssa, Nicolas and Ra¬chel; his brother, Daniel Ferrazzano (Susan); his sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and George DiBruno; his niece, Dan¬ielle; and nephews, George (Melissa), Grego¬ry (Jacke) and Danny.
To Dr. David Vaughn and Barbara Zoltick, CRND of Penn's Hematology-Oncology Division, and Kami, Russel, Christie, Pastor Tom and Elizabeth of Penn's Wissahickon Hos¬pice, a heartfelt gratitude for all you have done on Don's behalf. You were his angels here on earth.
"He stood in the storm and when the wind didn't blow his way (and it certainly didn't),
he adjusted his sails."
— Elizabeth Edwards
